We are so proud to announce that 18 of the short films created by Yijala Yala Project with the Roebourne community will be screened on national television! Over the next three months NITV (National Indigenous Television) will be showing their pick of our films as part of their new ‘Backyard Shorts’ series.
NITV is a free-to-air channel that reaches over two million viewers a month so these Roebourne-made films will be beaming into living rooms across the country. Audiences will get to know the Love Punks and Satellite Sisters, as well as some of the personal stories and music and dance pieces we filmed over the four years of the Project.
The first screenings are tomorrow night, Tuesday 16 June at 9:30pm. We will share the other upcoming screening dates and times as they approach via the Yijala Yala Facebook, so keep an eye out and share with your friends. Happy viewing!
