‘How Do We Get To Space? The Story of the Love Punks and the Satellite Sisters’ has been awarded best documentary (short form) at the 2014 ATOM Awards!

Since 1982, the ATOM Awards have been celebrating the best of Australian and New Zealand screen content from the education sector and screen industry professionals. They are the second-longest-running film and media awards in Australia, behind the AFI/AACTA Awards.

The awards were presented on 28 November at Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne. We are honoured to be selected from over 600 entries from Australian and New Zealand across the award’s twenty-nine categories – stiff competition!

‘How Do We Get To Space?’ is director Chynna Campbell’s first longer-form documentary, and follows the story of our NEOMAD project in Roebourne. Huge congratulations to Chynna, the Love Punks, Satellite Sisters and all the Roebourne mob. We are looking forward to more screenings of this awesome film in 2015.

“Big hART and the Yijala Yala Project acknowledge the recent passing of one the film’s interview subjects. Our thoughts are with the family and Roebourne community at this time.”
