After a massive performance in Roebourne last Sunday night we’re busily rehearsing for our upcoming Perth season, and the team are headed there next week. It’s time to book your tickets so you can join us! Hipbone Sticking Out runs at the Heath Ledger Theatre from 29 September to 4 October. Head to Ticketek HERE.

At turns funny, wicked, beautiful and gut wrenching Hipbone Sticking Out is spellbinding, cross-cultural theatre that breaks imaginative boundaries – a story that sweeps across time, with luminous animation, complex harmonies and layered story.

When 16-year-old John Pat died in a lockup in 1983, it was more than a tragedy – it was part of a much bigger story for the people of Roebourne. Hipbone Sticking Out is this story. It takes us on a journey from Greco/Roman myths, tall ships, Terra Nullius, pearlers, pastoralists, slavery, exotic minerals and back to the Pat family – here and now.

Four years in the making, Hipbone is brought to life by Big hART (creators of Ngapartji Ngapartji and Namatjira) and the Pilbara’s Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi people who bring their powerful voice and a deep authenticity to this exquisite and hugely original work.

For those outside of WA, spread the word to your Perth-based friends, relatives and colleagues, so they don’t miss this epic production. Check out our Facebook event and share away!
